A cooperation protocol has been signed between Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) and ITU-TRNC Education and Research Campuses. Within the scope of the protocol, collaborative work between ALTSO and ITU-TRNC will be carried out in scientific, social, cultural, academic, vocational and educational fields.

 

The protocol was signed by Mehmet ŞAHİN, the President of ALTSO and Ercan KAHYA, the Rector of ITU-TRNC Education and Research Campuses.

 

During his speech at the protocol, the ALTSO President, Mehmet Şahin said that after beginning work in June 2013, they turned ALTSO into an education campus. President Şahin said, "Since we began our duties in June 2013, we have given a great deal of importance to member-focused work and training activities. Firstly, we have gathered all training programmes under the name of ALTSO Academy. We organized certificate programs in all kinds of vocational training programmes, especially personal training programmes. We became the role model for all chambers. After us, many chambers began their personal development trainings. We get good results from them".

 

President Sahin, who also gave information about the cooperation protocol, said: "We are going to cooperate with ITU in scientific, social, cultural, academic, vocational and education fields. We will develop joint projects for the benefit of our members and organize meetings and events within the fields of the cooperation. ALTSO and ITU will be able to benefit from each other's knowledge and experience from their respective fields. Staff will be appointed in mutual academic / managerial positions in the required fields. The organization of scientific, institutional and social meetings in our city will be encouraged. In-service and vocational training activities will be carried out within this collaboration."

 

President ŞAHİN said that, "Alanya will benefit from ITU's knowledge and experience. I would like to thank the ITU-TRNC Rector Prof. Dr. KAHYA, a close friend of mine, for his dedication. I really hope that our protocol will be good for our Alanya and ITU."

 

In his speech following President SAHIN, Rector KAHYA said that he saw ALTSO as a very important dynamic of the Mediterranean Region. Rector KAHYA said that, "I see a hard-working, status qou breaking team at ALTSO. I have known ALTSO President Mr. Mehmet for 3 years. Everybody knows that his enthusiasm and energy are at the highest level. We wanted to carry this excitement and synergy to Cyprus or move some positive values of Cyprus to this Alanya-based Mediterranean Region. Everything begins with such trainings, but eventually they turn into projects, innovations, R&D and additional values. Things that start small then grow like snowballs. This advantage is important for the greater benefits of the Republic of Turkey and TRNC, and afterwards the institutions and the people who get the positive benefits from it. This is our aim. ITU has been a deeply rooted institution for over 240 years. ITU represents the bests and the firsts. As ITU-TRNC, if we want to be active in the Alanya, Mediterranean region we will sign an agreement with ALKU and AHEP universities, which are the local dynamics. I hope we are all trying to do something for the benefit of our region side by side. I congratulate Mr. Mehmet Şahin, our President, for his hard work".

 

The cooperation protocol was signed after the speeches. After the protocol, President ŞAHİN presented a basket of banana products to the Rector of KAHYA, while KAHYA presented a special hand crafted product of Cyprus.
