Dr. Lecturer Hiroaki SETA from National Institute of Technology, Toba College, has been commissioned as a guest lecturer at ITU-TRNC Education Research Campuses to work and do research with Dr. Lecturer Cemil YURTÖREN on a 4-year project called “A study on Marine Safety Management of Marine Traffic in Japan and Turkey” upon ITU-TRNC Rector Prof. Dr. Ercan KAHYA’s invitation.
As regards the project agreement signed between ITU Maritime Faculty and National Institute of Technology, Toba College 3 years ago, risk analysis and evaluation of maritime waterways of the two countries – Turkey and Japan - has been done based on AIS data. The project has also led the way to exchange programs between lecturers, post-graduate and even graduate students between ITU Maritime Faculty and National Institute of Technology, Toba College.
Lecturer Dr. SETA will be at ITU-TRNC Famagusta Campus for 3 months between November 2018 and February 2019. His presence in N. Cyprus as a part of guest lecturer exchange program is believed to provide an opportunity for the cultural and academic promotion of North Cyprus in Japan.
