Heat Pumps and Practices of Heat Pumping

ITU North Cyprus Continuing Education Center, UCCTEA Chamber of Electrical Engineers and UCCTEA Chamber of Mechanical Engineers have held a seminar on “Heat Pumps and Practices of Heat Pumping” with the sponsorship of EBI Inc., Form Industrial Products Commerce Inc., Canovate Energy Systems and North Power Property.


The seminar, which was held on February 16, 2018 from 9 am to 4 pm at Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Conference Hall, was attended by many people. Following the completion of registration, the seminar started with the opening speeches of UCCTEA Chamber of Mechanical Engineers President Emir TAŞÇIOĞLU, UCCTEA Chamber of Electrical Engineers President Mert GİRGEN and ITU-TRNC Education Research Campuses Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar KUM.


The first presentation of the seminar was given by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Mechanics Instructor Assist. Prof. Dr. Devrim AYDIN. The presentation was on “Analysis of Using Hybrid Heat Pumps in Local Heating” and “Solar Energy Technologies and Increasing Performance of Heat Pumps.” After Q & A session, the representative of EBI Inc. Electrical and Electronics Engineer Msc Volkan ALSANCAK gave information about heat pumps and how to use them.


During the seminar ITU Energy Institute Director Prof. Dr. Altuğ ŞİŞMAN shared information about works on Ground-source Heat Pumps at ITU Energy Institute, Obstacles and Challenges of Ground-Source Heat Pumps, Heat Pumps Developed for Mass Production Purposes, Its Advantages in terms of Users and the Country, and The Outcomes of ITU Energy Institute Research.


After lunch break, Form Industrial Products Commerce Inc. Progress Director Pınar GÜRLER gave a presentation about ground-source & water-source heat pumps and their usage. This was followed by Canovate Energy Systems Board Director Ziya TİRYAKİ’s presentation titled “Technical Features of a Heat Pump and Its Practice Samples.” The seminar ended after Q & A session.
