VISIT FROM ANKARA UNIVERSITY

A delegation from Ankara University conducted an official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to collaborate with the Prime Ministry's Commission on Drug Abuse and the training program for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University. The delegation aimed to enhance relations with universities in TRNC, establish new areas of cooperation, and strengthen existing ties.

The delegation, led by Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet ÜNÜVAR, visited Prof. Dr. Murat SARI, the Rector of ITU-TRNC, on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

The Ankara University delegation included Prof. Dr. Necdet ÜNÜVAR (Rector), Prof. Dr. Orhan ÇELİK (Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences), Prof. Dr. Nebile DAĞLIOĞLU (Director of the Institute of Forensic Sciences), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak YALÇIN ŞAHİNER (Director of the Center for Addiction Treatment and Research), Dr. Mehmet ÖZDEMİR (Coordinator of Institutional Communication), Inst. Ümmet ARTUÇ (Rector's Advisor), and Sare ÜNÜVAR (Rector's spouse). They were welcomed at the ITU-TRNC Continuous Education Center by Prof. Dr. Murat SARI, Dr. Aslı KANAN (Rector's Advisor), and Selin DENİZER (Executive Assistant).

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Murat SARI shared information about the establishment, undergraduate programs, and activities of ITU-TRNC. He expressed satisfaction with the prospect of collaboration with Ankara University, highlighting the importance of cooperation with one of the most significant institutions in the Republic of Turkey.

Emphasizing the close relations with Istanbul Technical University, Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet ÜNÜVAR expressed the desire to enhance ties with ITU-TRNC. Following speeches, the rectors exchanged views on potential academic research and collaboration, concluding the meeting with exchanging gifts.
